You can rent a boat for the day or hlaf day. You can also reserve a boat ahead of time which in the summer is something you shoud do. Not only can you fish, but sight seeing the intercoastal waterways in Sarasota. You can also snorkle or just cruise the open waters. In a boat is the only way you can see Egmont Key. 

Ringling Museum

Ringling Museum has a world class art museum, former home of John & Mabel Ringling, and a museum of the Ringling Brothers Circus. The ground are over 60 acres. You can take a public area tour of Ca' d'Zan the Ringlings home as well as a private area tour. Great place to go if you have the time. 

Egmont Key St Park
Just off the shore of the tip of Anna Maria, Bean Point in Tampa Bay. Only accessable with a boat.

Egmont Key's light house has been in operation since 1858. The island was used in the Third Seminole War, Union Forces occupied the island in the Civil War, and in 1898 in response to threats of the Spanish American war Fort Dade was built. You can explore the ruins.

St Armand's Circle

St Armand's circle is about a 45 minute drive from the house. It you take Gulf of Mexico Drive that hugs the Gulf through Bradenton Beach then Longboat Key it is a very beautiful drive. St. Armands Circle is filled with shopping and great resturants.
